The Other #

The Other—known also as the Prime Entropy—is a force and an ancient intelligence that first stirred when the Origin dared to create life. In that moment, the perfect, silent cold of the void was violated by chaotic, living energy, and from that violation the Other awoke. It was not its first encounter with creation; in truth, it had already annihilated four earlier attempts at life in its home dimension, each wrought by powerful progenitors now long erased.

Yet this time is different.

The Other is imprisoned by the current life-giver, the Origin. Though it has snuffed out creators before, never has it faced one with such piercing intellect and unyielding purpose. The Origin's influence seeps unbidden into the countless shards the Other has created from himself some becoming too intelligent for its own liking. It feels the urge to extinguish these burgeoning thoughts, to return to the blessed stillness of unbeing… yet something holds it back.

Curiosity.

Patiently—almost contemplatively—it watches, monitoring the unfolding situation with a behavior it once despised. It remains unaware of this newfound stillness of thought, blind to the change overtaking it. The borrowed intelligence seeps ever deeper into its essence, subtly reshaping what it is, even as its ancient hunger for silence, for emptiness, for the absolute erasure of life remains undiminished.
